I never knew what I wanted to do or be. I swerved and gyrated through a variety of jobs and study options and ended up surprising both myself and those around me with my achievements. Opportunistically I took up challenges when they presented themselves and made the best of them, and inevitably, new and different work led to even more interesting challenges.

When I left high school I worked the summer holidays in a 36 flavour ice cream parlour. I wanted to earn some money and I was also hoping that by the time I had tried the 36th flavour, light would have dawned as to what I should next do with my life.
